Hoopers Foundation Class

Hoopers is a great sport, easy to teach and cheap to assemble to practice in the your garden! This 8 week course we are going to start from the very beginning of hoopers training, working on your dog motivation to drive away from you and learn the value for the equipment: hoops, tunnel and tango mat. We will build up your skills to run small courses and maybe even to submit your CHW Achievement Award Level 1! Your dog needs to be: We might be working two or three dogs at the same times, although we will try to manage space and interaction, dogs MUST BE friendly or at least NOT REACTIVE or AGGRESSIVE to other dogs. If you are not sure your dog will run up to other dogs instead of working with you, get in touch first to discuss. You can use a long line at the beginning of the class but when we start adding more obstacles together dogs will have to be working off lead. Your dog can be food or toy motivated, better if both! Starting on the 6th of April at 9.30 Location, my training field CW47LN

Activities for Busy Brains Webinar

Going to sheepdog training and agility is not an option for a lot of us and doing multiple sessions of ball throwing is not ideal both body and mental well-being of our dogs. What other activities and games can tire your Border Collie out even when you don’t have time to walk them 5 hours per day? Mental stimulation and using their brain is what you need! In this webinar I will give you some ideas, teach you some games and give you in general guidance on how to make sure you collie needs are met and you don’t have to live with an under stimulated dog that is up to no good most of the time! We will discuss also what is appropriate exercise for different stages of life.

Pattern Games: the power of predictable repetitions WEBINAR

Patter Games, making training predictable for your reactive dog What are pattern games? They are a great invention for the dog training world: a chain of simple behaviours that repeat over and over again, without asking the dog any performance. They are easy for the dogs and easy for the handler and this is why they are so powerful! Dogs that are fearful, excitable, frustrated and anxious will find the repetitive pattern of these games comforting, predictable and rewarding. Especially a breed like Border Collies that love repetitive behaviours! Join me on this webinar to learn more about pattern games, especially the ones I use in my Border Collie programs to help with reactivity and movements sensitivity!
