How can we teach our high energy collie that offering calm and focus is a good thing? What kind of exercises and management we can put in place so that our dogs responses in the house is not barking and jumping around but offering a calm behaviour? It’s important that your dog has confidence in you but it’s also important that your dog feels self confident in order to help them navigate their social life and the world we have build around them. A dog that lacks of confidence will have fear responses and will struggle also to recover quickly from bad days. Sometimes confidence is a genetic predisposition, but you can do so much to empower your dog, give them the confidence they are lacking to function around situations where normally they wouldn’t function and give them tools that come through you to be able to recover quickly if something scary happens.  In this webinar we will discuss what positive tools you can use to build confidence, what games you can play at home and on a walk to boost confidence and how to support your dog making them feel they can conquer their fear and dear to be happy and resilient!

There is so much on social media, books and training resources about socialisation and I feel like I need to do a webinar on what I have learned in 18 years owning collies and 12 years working with dogs. Dogs are dogs, but some have breed traits that make it possible to have slightly different socialisation plans to avoid some traits to come out.
