Feeling Overwhelmed by Your High-Energy Border Collie?
If you love your dog’s intelligence, drive and spark, but it doesn’t always feel easy to live with them.
Walks are stressful because your dog pulls, barks, or chases.
You feel embarrassed when your Collie reacts to other dogs, kids, or traffic.
Off-lead freedom feels impossible because you don’t trust your dog will come back.
Or simply you have the most amazing puppy with a big brain and you need somehow to learn how to handle it and train them at the full potential.
I help Border Collie owners who have experienced the same struggles and more.
If you’re like most of the collie owners who come to me for help, you’ve likely already tried lots of things to help your dog
Does any of this sound familiar?
• Puppy or obedience classes with other dogs around made your Border Collie even more overwhelmed.
• General advice from trainers who don’t understand the breed has actually made your life more difficult.
• You’ve searched online and found conflicting advice: some said use rewards, some said use a firmer hand, and you don’t know which way to go.
• You’ve tried exercising your Border Collie more and more until you have no time left, and it hasn’t changed the behaviour.
• You’ve tried to teach them to be calm, but that feels like an impossible task because they simply don’t want to hear about it.
• You’ve bought every treat and toy you could find, and still your Border Collie doesn’t want to work with you, listen to you, or be less reactive to the environment.
• You’ve spent a lot of money on one-to-one training, and none of the advice you were given actually suited your Border Collie or your specific problems.
You’re not alone
My second Border Collie, Moss, taught me more than I ever expected.
I thought I knew enough about dog training and about the breed but I found myself with a Border Collie who had absolutely no interest in paying attention to me. The environment was everything to him. He didn’t want my treats.
He’d take a toy, but only to run away with it. And he was more than a little spicy with other dogs barking on the lead, running up to them, and when off lead, my recall simply didn’t exist.
That was over fifteen years ago, and I had to work hard to understand how his Border Collie brain worked.
I’ve been exactly where you are, I know the frustrations but I now also know the joy that comes on the other side of truly understanding your breed.
That’s why I am now a border collie specialist and uniquely qualified to help you and your dog.
If you’re reading this, you’re in the right place.
Other Border Collie owners have been exactly where you are and they found the help they were looking for right here.
Here’s how things need to be different
To train a Border Collie and manage their energy, their fast brain, and sometimes their reactivity, you need to understand how that brain works.
Teaching a sit or a down is a great start but it’s rarely enough.
To have the relationship you dream of, you need to build a real training relationship with your Border Collie with the skills and exercises to keep progressing, clarity in what you’re asking them to do, and the right motivation for a herding breed.

Built with my members, for my members
The Collie Club wasn’t built in one go it grew with my members. I started from scratch and created each module as my members needed it, which means every single module exists because a real Border Collie owner asked for it.
The result is a membership that covers everything you need to train your Collie. Dip in wherever feels most relevant to you. Each module works as a standalone course, so there’s no pressure to follow a set order and if something from another module would help, I’ll point you straight to it.
And if you’re not sure where to start or what to focus on, don’t worry, you will always have my input to help you decide what to work on.
